brittane & friends :
I love working with my fabulous makeup artist, Nicole Palermo, with Happily Ever After LLC. She called me about this shoot with her friend Christy and I knew it was going to be awesome. Christy had this amazing idea of giving her daughter, Brittane, a photo shoot with 5 of her friends for a graduation from 8th grade present. What an awesome idea.. I can only imagine how cool this would do as a 13 year old. We threw around some ideas of a location but Christy had the great idea of getting a room at the Gramercy Mansion. The girls arrived in the morning, had breakfast, got their makeup done by Nicole, and then I showed up ay 1 for the shoot. Then they all went out to dinner and spent the night at the B&B. I have to admit, I was a little jealous. I had a blast with these amazing girls.
The girls were amazing. They just had fun and that is what is the coolest to capture. I brought the frame and did the directing at first, but man, they just ran away with ideas. I can’t wait to photograph more of these fabulous girls… they asked me if I would still be a photographer in 10-20 years for when they will be getting married!!! I was honored and then felt really old!!!

maria linz photography in the baltimore sun!
I met with Lauren, a prospective bride, back in Decemeber for a consultation for her wedding photography. She mentioned that she worked for Clear Channel during our meeting but never thought much of it, as everyone has a pretty cool job… then I get an email from my associate photographer Helen that I was mentioned in a blog on the Baltimore Sun. Turns out, Lauren is blogging about planning her wedding and she described her experience with picking a wedding photographer… and she hired me! LOVE.
Lauren is getting married Sept 2nd, 2012 at the 1840′s Ballroom in Baltimore.

sunday mornings
I love Sunday mornings. I photographed a bat mitzvah Saturday night with the amazing Joe Sachs. It was quite the production too. There were a lot of 13 year old girls, but man, it was a party! Wish I had gotten one of those!
Since I got home late, my fiance Mark got up with Finn when he woke up at 6am. I heard Mark talking to Finn downstairs but nothing was cuter than the site of them as I walked down the stairs. I immediatley grabbed my camera. Finn was out of sorts this weekend and you can see it in his tired eyes. They had woken up early and let me sleep in. They were so cute, sitting there is the big oversized chair, reading. Finn barely even glanced up at me as he was so engrossed with the mouse and his cookie. I have two amazing men in my life

i’m getting married too… and found my dress!
I don’t think I posted this on the blog yet, but I am also planning a wedding. My fabulous boyfriend, Mark, propsed last September. I always kind of dreaded the day of wedding planning, well since I am a wedding photographer, I knew I would either be over weddings and not want one or want a fabulous one that I know I wouldn’t be able to afford. Yup, its the 2nd. I love weddings and no matter how I sliced it, I wanted my own.
The problem lies that it has to be different than any other wedding I have seen, and lets be honest, I have been to a lot and seen a lot… that is a hard feat. We decided that the only way I could do this was to get away from Baltimore. Mark and I have vacationed many times with my family and with our friends to Deep Creek and have always loved it. Why not a little destination wedding?
So its on… Chanteclaire Farm, September 15, 2012. I have been devastated by the popularity of this wedding date, because I can not tell you how many fabulous couples are also getting married that day, that I will not have the privledge of photographing. In addition, I will be missing my awesome college roommate Aimee’s wedding as we have the same date. We will share an anniversary which you can’t do with most friends.
OK.. back to the reason for the blog. I bought my wedding dress at Garnish Boutique. I love it there. We were able to squeeze in a last minute appt at 9am, which is pretty early for trying on dresses. Mia is the owner and she is awesome. They only take one appt per hour, so you have the place to yourself. It rivals no where else to shop, as the rest of the places we went to that day, you were kinda just another girl in there, but Garnish made me feel like a Bride. They don’t lie, trying on dresses was FUN! The dress was one my mother and sister picked immediatly off the rack and was the only one everyone got choked up about. I went on to two other places but came back later in the day to try it on again. Mia was awesome and accomodating when I called to sneak back in. A week later, I went back and ordered it.
Being that we are in the industry, Mia asked me to come back to Garnish for a little photo shoot last week. Maria Linz Photography will be featured on her blog as well with the photos that I took. It is an awesome idea, a creative shoot with a bunch of different vendors getting together and coming up with an awesome inspiration table. More details and all the vendors to come but here is a sneak peek. Also, the beautiful gown is called Cricket and is the newest arrival at Garnish Boutique. Check them out at www.garnishboutique.com or stop by the store off Ruxton Road!

boudoir
I love boudoir and I am feeling inparticularly inspired today since I had two sessions last week and this week has been a lot of editing. I started shooting boudoir session with my dear friend and makeup artist Nicole Palermo with Happily Ever After LLC. She is the best makeup artist in Baltimore and makes me feel like Kim Khardashian every time. Its one of those things you do when you feel good about yourself, no matter what size you are, no matter what number is on that scale, you are beautiful just how you are … and your significant other, be it you boyfriend, fiance, husband or partner- they’ll know it too!
